Better Than Resolutions

The 12 days between December 25 and January 6 are a time outside of time when projections are made for the coming year. Each day corresponds to a month of the year: December 25 corresponds to January, December 26 corresponds to February, and so on…


We can take time outside of time for ourselves! With more free time during this 12-day cycle, I planned to go to hot yoga every day. But my true self, the person I am at the core, aligned with my inner need to be still. My activity took on a quiet nature, and here is what I am doing instead:

Go to bed early and wake up when I am ready.

Take warm lavender salt baths.

Prepare delicious meals for my family.

Walk at my local cranberry bog.


Take a leisurely swim, soak in the hot tub and relax in the sauna at my health club.

I am not making new year resolutions. Instead I am remaining quiet so that I can tune into myself and become aware of my inner knowing.
